Tripletail love structure and are pretty much only found sitting under any decently size object floating offshore. They fight well but hooking them is tough since they are smart, have great eyesight, and are usually surrounded by a bunch of more aggressive bait fish that you have to maneuver your bait through. They won’t spook if you let the boat drift to them and you can often get close enough to touch but the use of gaffs or snagging is prohibited for these fish. Netting them is possible but difficult. Great for eating and underrated as game fish. When they do eat they go crazy.
